About This Spot

Stepping up to Lunas Drive Inn feels like arriving at a well-loved neighborhood fixture where the pace slows just enough to savor the moment. Nestled comfortably on Broadway in Hobbs, this no-frills spot hums with the energy of locals chatting over plates that blend tradition with a dash of playfulness. The modest roadside stand, complemented by communal tables under an open sky, invites a casual kind of gathering — the kind where the food and friendly service draw you in as much as the familiar hum of everyday life.

There's an undeniable warmth in the air, the kind that comes from recipes passed down and perfected over generations, quietly cherished by those who know where to find true comfort food. The menu weaves together bold, spicy flavors with classic fast-food vibes, making it a place where you might catch yourself torn between crispy sizzlers layered with melted cheese and something as simple and satisfying as their home-brewed iced tea. It’s exactly the kind of meal that sparks both nostalgia and a little excitement.

Though Lunas operates with a straightforward roadside charm, the experience feels thoughtfully human. The rhythm of orders being taken and plates handed over is steady but unhurried — a space where staff and guests connect over shared favorites or a quick recommendation. This grounded friendliness invites repeat visits, whether you're fueling up on a weekday lunch or making a spontaneous stop on a road trip through New Mexico.

While you enjoy your meal beneath the open sky, it’s easy to see why locals swear by the spicy sizzler offerings or the hearty burritos that manage to feel both indulgent and familiar. The kids’ meals and classic fries speak to a crowd looking for comfort and straightforward satisfaction rather than flashy trends. This is a place where the food feels accessible but never rushed — the kind of corner spot that becomes a quiet staple in everyday routines.

In every bite and sip, Lunas Drive Inn offers a slice of Hobbs life — unpretentious, welcoming, and just a little bit special for those who crave an honest, homey connection to their food and community.

I loved it all! Best cheeseburger I have had in years! Ain't no dry meat between them buns! The tea was very good and not dry tasting either. Ya'll gotta check this place out!

Lunas is a must try in Hobbs. They have been around since about 1967. They are know for their sizzlers and items with the spicy sizzler meat on them, but have a wide variety of food on their menu. From enchiladas and tacos to hamburger and fries, you can’t go wrong. The employees are friendly and service is pretty quick. They are very busy at times, so be patient. My personal favorite is the sizzler fries with cabbage added on.

Such a great roadside stop! Friendly staff. Easy to order. Nothing on the menu is bad. Just a stand with some tables, no indoor.

I had the chicken nachos! I have tasted them before and always thought they were tasty, but this was my first visit in person. It was a bit busy because it was the lunch hour. Despite the busyness, it took only 15 minutes for my order. The seating area I do not recommend sitting at because it was a bit funky although it is conveniently shaded. My server was super sweet and gave me lots of extra sauce for my nachos. The prices were fairly reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get.
